Momentum is a very familiar concept, 

In Theory, that is.
If only there was enough grease 
To oil the friction in my mind. 
Or is there?

I obey Newton's first law
More than any other ball of mass.
A Tesla's mechanism 
Is an explorable option for my mind.

'Delay is dangerous',
Ultimately, it isn't denial
Until,
I lost the job, 
My Résumé came in late. 
But if I had left early, 
I might have been involved in an accident.
Or is that just my lazy thought?

'Better late than never'. 
Grandma is late 
And she would never do some things again. 
I was late to the engagement 
And would never have that relationship again. 

Bad situations change people,
Maybe these losses contain enough trauma 
To change my favourite word 
From 'later' to NOW!
